Nearly twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland were left lacking electricity on the start of the week after intense storm systems passed over the region, producing strong winds reaching 109 kilometers per hour.
Massive Ice Stones and Broad Damage
Residents reported giant hailstones as large as 7cm in certain regions. Weather authorities confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews working to handle the extensive power failures.
Southern State's Climate Difficulties
At the same time, approximately 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also faced power outages after the capital city experienced its most precipitation in a year and a half.
Rescue organizations received nearly 600 emergency reports across the state, mainly for property damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.

Meteorological Predictions
Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along large portions of eastern Queensland this coming days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
The following day was forecast to be the most rainy day, with ongoing storm activity predicted across different parts of both areas.
Safety Concern
Public health experts alerted that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
